    First you will want all the j variables on one side, and you'll want to simplify it. Additionally, I like to change subtraction to addition of the opposite.

    2.25 + (-11j) + (-7.75) + 1.5j = 0.5j + (-1)

    -5.5 + (-9.5 j) = 0.5j + (-1)

    -5.5 + (-9.5j) + (-0.5j) = - 1

    -5.5 + (-10j) = - 1

    -5.5 + 5.5 + (-10j) = - 1 + 5.5

    -10j = 4.5

    -10j/-10 = 4.5/10

    j = - 0.45 assuming that 7.75 was added to 1.5 j
