    The ratio of sold children tickets: sold adult tickets = 8:1

    Let the number of sold children tickets be 8x, and the sold adult tickets be x

    They sold 147 more children tickets than adults:

    8x-147 = x

    7x = 147

    x = 21

    The number of total sold tickets = the number of sold children tickets + the number of sold adult tickets = 8x+x = 9x = 9*21 = 189

    The amusement park sold 189 tickets on Saturday.
