The difference of the circumference of the pie container and pie is 6.3 inches.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given,

The radius of the pie container (R) = 9 in

The radius of the pie (r) = 8 in

To find the difference of the circumference of the pie container and pie.

    Formula

    The circumference of a circle = 2πr

    Now,

The circumference of the pie container = 2*π*9 = 18π in

The circumference of the pie = 2*π*8 = 16π in

    Hence,

    The difference = 18π-16π = 2π = 6.28 = 6.3 inches (approx)
