It cost $480 to rent an apartment on the gold coast for a weekend. Last year it cost $400. Because more people are visiting the gold coast rental price for next year is predicted to increase by 10 %. Shirley is planing to rent an apartment for a weekend stay next year

    (480 - 400) / 400 = 80 / 400 =.2 * 100 = 20%.

    480 +.10 * 480 = 480 + 48 = 528

    (528 - 480) / 480 =.1 * 100 = 10%

    (x - 480) / 480 =.10

    x/480 - 480/480 =.10

    x/480 - 1 =.10

    x/480 = 1.10

    x = 1.10 * 480

    = 528
