The weight y of an object on Mars is proportional to the weight x of the object on Earth. An object that weighs 70 pounds on Earth would weigh 28 pounds on Mars. Write an equation that represents the situation. Then determine how much a boulder that weighs 250 pounds on Mars would weigh on Earth.

    70/28 = x/250

    this however is not an equation it is a proportion so you would not be able to solve using systems of equations but you could use cross multiplication to solve this problem as well
