Ninety people are separated into two groups. The first group is five less than three times as large as the second group. Find out how many people are in each group.

    3g-5+1g=90 23x3=69-5=64

    4g+-5=90 64+23=87

    Add 5 to both sides one group has 64

    4g=95 the other has 23

    divide both sides by 4

    g=23
