The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is 2l + 2w, where l is the length and width. How can you use the Distributive Property to write an equivalent expression for 2l + 2w? Explain.

    Try to find the common factor which is 2.

    So:

    Multiply by 2 both variables in parenthesis and you get:

    2 * (l+w)
