So what you need to do in these problems is draw a line going down from the equation mark.
What you do to one side of that line you must do to the other!
So you will take a number that doesn't have a variable (5y has the variable because "y" represents the missing number) and you will do the opposite of it making it leave the equation.
In this one, you will take away 13, the reason you do that is so you are left simply with 5y = (63-13) because you took 13 from both sides of the line.
What you will be left with is 50=5y. Now it is just division because the goal of these equations is to get rid of all the numbers and be left with y=_
You will divide 5 from both sides making it
y=10
