When this 3-digit number is rounded to the nearest hundred it rounds down to 900. The digit in the ones places is the fifth odd number that you count beginning with1. The sum of the digits is 22. What is the number?

The digit in the ones places is the fifth odd number that you count beginning with 1. The sum of the digits is 22. So first we find out the first digit that is in the ones place. So it said the that it is the 5th odd number you can count so the odd numbers are 1, 3, 5, 7, & 9. The fifth odd number is 9. The next clue says that the sum of the digits is 22 so we subtract 22 from 9 first. 22 - 9 = 13 so right now we need to extract two digits from 13 that we can use to round up the number to 900 which is 8 and 5. To round up a number we should consider the number following it. If it is 5 or more then we should add 1 to the rounded digit. So the unknown number is 859.
