The question is very broken so I will find the price for both. I will be using elimination beginning with Y. 4x+5y=30.50 multiplied by 2.8 to make 11.2x+14y=85.40. Subtract the second equation to get. 2x =.9 making x 9/2 or $4.50. That is the price of meat. Plug it in to get the price of cheese. Either equation will work, but I will use the first. 4.5x4 is 18, which means only $12.5 is left to distribute among 5 pounds of cheese. This means $2.50 is the price of cheese by the pound.
