An ice cream company gave 8% of the price of an ice cream cone to charity. if an ice cream cone costs $1.00, how much money will go to charity?

    8% of $1.00 = 1.00/100x8=0.08$

    Think of it this way ... percent is out of 100 so if you think of 100 pennies or one dollar, 8% is like 8 cents and 100-8=92 so the ice cream company gives 8 cents of every dollar to a charity and will keep 92 cents of every dollar
