Judging the question I concluded that to solve this problem you first needed to determine how many products Joe assembles per year.

To do this you need to multiply 100 by 12, which you should get 1200 products.

Next, you want to multiply 1200 by the 2% defective to find how many are defective per year.

Your equation should be 1200 (0.02)

Thus your answer should be 24 defective products per year!

Joe's track record is 2% defective. This comes to 0.02 (100 products), or 2 products, per month, and to 24 per 12-month year.
