Kenny and Nour each bought new sneakers for $60. Kenny sold his sneakers to the used sneaker store for 25% less than the original price. Nour sold his sneakers to the used sneaker store for 30% less than his original price. How much more money did Kenny receive for his sneakers than Nour received for his sneakers?

    Kenny sold his sneakers for $45, 60*.25 (which is 25%) = 15, but that is 25% of 60, so you need to subtract that from 60, which is $45. If you use the same principle for 30%, you end up with $42. Subtract 42 from 45, and your answer is $3.
