    He is filling it at a rate of 6 gallon per minute

    suppose it takes x minutes to reach 27 gallon

    water filled in x minutes =

    water already present + volume of water at the rate of 6 in x minutes

    12 gallons + 6 gallon. minute 8 x minutes

    12 + 6x

    This should be equal to atleast 27

    12 + 6x = 27

    let us subtract 12 from both sides

    6x = 27-12

    6x = 15

    divide both sides by 6

    x = 2.5

    Answer

    It will take 2.5 minutes to reach 27 gallon.

    When He start to fill the water
