The answer to your question is 7 2/3 gallons

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Data

    3 1/3 gallons brown paint

2 5/6 gallons of yellow paint

1 1/2 gallons of red paint

    Process

To find the total gallons of paint left, just sum up all the gallons of paint

    1. - Convert the mixed fractions to improper fractions

    3 1/3 = (9 + 1) / 3 = 10/3

    2 5/6 = (12 + 5) / 6 = 17/6

    1 1/2 = (2 + 1) / 2 = 3/2

    2. - Find the least common factor

    2 3 6 2

    1 3 3 3

    1 1

    LCF = 2 x 3 = 6

    3,. Sum of the fractions

    10/3 + 17/6 + 3/2 = (20 + 17 + 9) / 6

    = 46 / 6

    = 7 4/6

    = 7 2/3

    4. - Brent has left 7 2/3 gallons of paints
