    P (x) = x^4 + 9x^3 - 9x + 2

    Given: P (-2)

plug - 2 in for x and solve

    P (-2) = x^4 + 9x^3 - 9x + 2

    P (-2) = (-2) ^4 + 9 (-2) ^3 - 9 (-2) + 2

    P (-2) = 16 + 9 (-2) ^3 - 9 (-2) + 2

    P (-2) = 16 - 72 - 9 (-2) + 2

    P (-2) = 16 - 72 + 18 + 2

    P (-2) = - 56 + 18 + 2

    P (-2) = - 38 + 2

    P (-2) = - 36

    -36 is the answer
