Hugo is serving fruit sorbet at his party. He has 1 gallon of fruit sorbet to serve to 32 friends. If each person receives the same amount, how many cups of fruit sorbet will each person get? Explain.

    First we need to find out how many cups are in a gallon.

    1 gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints = 16 cups

    So now divide the total number of available cups with the number of people.

    16 / 32 = 0.5 cups/person
