    Because we have only one solution:

    Then, the discriminant (b²-4ac) have to be equal to 0.

    ax²+bx+c=0

    x=[-b⁺₋√ (b²-4ac) ]/2a = (-b⁺₋0) / 2a=-b/2a (this is only one solution)
