The Shirley Temple drink is made with a ratio of eight parts ginger ale to one part syrup. How much of each is needed to make a 12 oz. Shirley Temple?

    So 8:1 or 9 parts total (8+1=9)

    so ginger ale=8/9 of 12 or 8/9 times 12=96/9=32/3=10 and 2/3 oz

    syrup=1/9, 1/9 times 12=12/9=4/3=1 and 1/3 oz
