A triangle has sides measuring 8 inches and 12 inches. If x represents the length in inches of the third side, which inequality gives the range of possible values for x?

    First we can write the equation 8 + 12 > x because according to the triangle property, the sum of any 2 sides have to be greater than the third side && the difference of any two siddes should be smaller than the third side.

    So the answer is 4 < x < 20
