11 members of the group plus himself = 12 people

    1/4 cup per person * 12 people = 1/4 * 12 cups = 12/4 cups = 3 cups

He needs 3 cups of sauce.

    1 cup = 8 fluid ounces

    3 cups = 3 * 8 fluid ounces

    3 cups = 24 fluid ounces

    Answer: 24 fluid ounces
