A rectangle has a length of 3x + 7 and a width of 2x - 1. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 42 meters. What is the value of x, length, and width?

    P=w+l

    42 = (3x+7) + (2x-1)

    42=5x+6

    36=5x

    x=36/5

    plug in x

    w=3 (36/5) + 7

    w=28.6

    l=2 (36/5) - 1

    l=13.4
