if a number is increased by five and the result is then divided by three, the result is seven. write an equation that models this verbal description and solve the equation for the number described.

    5x:3=7

    5 is multiplying an unknown number which is being represented by x then dividing the expression by three which is = to 7.

    if we were to simplify it produce x being equal to 4,2

    Solution: X = 26 over 3 or 8 and two thirds
