1/4 + 1/2 + x = - 3/4

Solve for x.

    First, we get rid of the fractions (to ease up calculations). we can do so by multiplying all terms by 4

    (1/4) (4) + (1/2) (4) + (x) (4) = (-3/4) (4)

    1 + 2 + 4x = - 3

    then, we will isolate the variables in one side of the equation and calculate its value:

    4x = - 3-2-1 = - 6

    x = - 6/4 = - 3/2
