2) Jonas is saving money to purchase a new motorbike that cost $6750. He currently has saved

$650. Jonas plans to earn money by mowing lawns. He will charge $40 per lawn.

A) Write and solve an inequality to determine the least amount of lawns that Jonas will need to

mow in order to have enough money to purchase the motorhike

    x = number of lawns Jonas needs to mow

    40x+650=6750

    Now Solve!

    First subtract 650 from both sides

    40x=6100

    Now divide by 40

    x=152.5 lawns

    Jonas can't mow 1/2 a lawn, so he would have to mow 153.
