A man burns 10 calories per minute mountain biking and 7.5 calories per minute in-line skating. His goal is to burn approximately 420 calories daily. This stuation can be represented by the equation 10x+7.5=420 where x is the number of minutes spent mountain biking and y is the number of minutes spent in-line skating.

    A.) 10x + 7.5 (0) = 420

    10x = 420

    420 / 10 = 42

    x = 42 > (42,0)

    10 (0) + 7.5y = 420

    7.5y = 420

    420 / 7.25 = 56

    y = 56 > (0,56)

    (42,0) (0,56)

    B.) The x intercept means that there was 42, minutes spent biking. The y intercept means that there was 56 minutes spent in line skating.
