A cylindrical vase has a height of 17 in. and a radius of 3in.

Find the exact surface area in terms of pi.

Suppose a second base has double the radius, but the same surface area. What is the height of the vase?

    Pi*3^2 = 9pi

    pi*6=6pi

    6pi*17 = 102pi

    102pi+9pi = 111pi in. squared

    pi*6^2=36pi

    pi*12=12pi

    36pi+12pi*x=111pi

    12pi*x=75pi

    x=6.25pi

    x=Height btw
