    Solution:

    1) Add 13 to both sides

    3x=2+13

    2) Simplify 2+13 to 15

    3x=15

    3) Divide both sides by 3

    x=/frac{15}{3}

    4) Simplify / frac{15}{3} to 5

    x=5
