Raj builds a side table in the shape of a cube. Each edge of the cube measures 20inches. Raj wants to cover the top and four sides of the table with ceramic tiles. Each tile has an edge length of 5inches. How many tiles will we need?

    Given that the Raj wants to cover the top and four sides of the table, we determine the summation of the areas. That is,

    A (total) = 5 x (20 in) ² = 2000 in²

    Then, the area of each ceramic tile is equal to,

    A (ceramic tile) = (5 in) ² = 25 in²

    Dividing the total area by the area of the ceramic tile will give us an answer of,

    n = 2000 in² / 25 in² 80

    Thus, Raj will be needing 80 tiles.
