What two numbers have a product of - 6 and a sum of - 1?

    X * y = - 6

    x + y = - 1 ... x = - 1 - y

    y (-1 - y) = - 6

    -y^2 - y = - 6

    y^2 + y - 6 = 0

    (y + 3) (y - 2) = 0

    y + 3 = 0

    y = - 3

    y - 2 = 0

    y = 2

    ur 2 numbers are : - 3 and 2
