Celeste and Dora both offer guitar lessons. Celeste charges an initial fee of $5.00, and an hourly rate of $7.25. Dora has an initial fee of $10.25, and an hourly rate of $6.50. The equation 7.25h + 5 = 6.5h + 10.25 represents the scenario. At how many hours of instruction will the cost be the same for both instructors?

Answer:So you just need to multiply different numbers in place of the x untill you find the correct answer or you could solve 7.25+5 and 6.5+10.25 then multiply eacch by one number n place of x until you find the answer.

If they both do 7 hours, then the price will total out at $55.75 for both. Not sure if you have a formula from your book, but common sense/guestimating gets you that correct answer.
