Before a renovation, a movie theater had 111 seats. After the renovation, the theater has 154 seats. What is the approximate percentage increase of the number of seats in the theater? If necessary, round to the nearest tenth of a percent.

    (New number-Old number) / (Old number) * 100

    new number=154 seats

    old number = 111 seats

    thus

    Percentage increase is:

    (154-111) / 111*100

    =38.7%
