    16cats and 19 birds

    Step-by-step explanation:

    if we say that x is birds and y is cats we can say that:

    4.5x+8.5y=221.5 (the amount birds and cat both need)

    y+x = 35 (number of cats and cats)

    x=35-y

    4.5 (35-y) + 8.5y = 221.5

    157.5-4.5y + 8.5y = 221.5

    4y=64

    y = 16

    16+x=35

    x=19
