The distributive property says a (b+c) = ab+ac
In my example shown above, you distribute the value on the outside (a) to both values on the inside (b+c).
For an example with real numbers AND variables, lets use:
2 (x+4)
1) Distribute the 2 to both x and 4:
2x+8
