The price of a box of cereal was $2.00 at the beginning of a year. At the end of the year, he price of a box of the same type of cereal was $3.00. What was the percent increase in the price of the box of cereal?

    If the box was 2 dollars to begin with and it when up to 3, then you subtract the beginning price to the current price, 3-2=1 and you divide it by the original number. so 1/2 = 50%
