Erin built a rectangular-prism-shaped trough for her horses to eat from. The Trough is 3m long, 1m wide, and 1m high, hay for the trough costs 14$ per cubic meter. How much will it cost to completely fill the trough with hay?

    You find volume by multiplying width by length by height so

    3 x 1 x 1 = 3

    so the volume is 3 cubic meters and every cubic meter of hay costs $14 so

    3 x 14 = 42
