Step-by-step explanation:
It'll be easier if you put both of the mixed fractions into improper fractions, so:
1 2/3 - --> 3 x 1 + 2 = 5 - --> 5/3
3 1/5 - --> 5 x 3 + 1 = 16 - --> 16/5
Now if you want to write it down, but 8/1 to make it easier to work out.
8/1 x 5/3 = 8 x 5/3 x 1 = 40/3 or 13 1/3
7/1 x 16/5 = 7 x 16/1 x 5 = 112/5 or 22 2/5
