The board of directors of a company knows that the probability that carbon emissions from the company's factory exceed the permissible level is 35%. They hire a consultant who uses a carbon footprint calculator to test the emissions level. The test, which has an accuracy rate of 85%, indicates that the factory's carbon emissions are within the permissible level.

    0.5525 a lot of people are saying that also but im not sure how they got it tbh. to me it would make sense that if the tests accuracy is 0.85 then the other part of it is 0.15. therefore i multiplied 0.65 (the probability that they are inside permissible levels) by the test predicting the opposite (0.15) that gave me 0.0975 but ive checked about 6 other answers and they all say 0.5525 BUT its for when the test is predicting the same thing NOT the opposite to be true.
