Don and Marie like to go to a good restaurant. Dinners are $16 to $19 dollars with soup or salad. A beverage is $1.50. Dessert is $3.75.     16 + 19 + 2 (1.50) + 2 (3.75) = 45.50 ... now this is before tax

    there is a tip of 15% ... 0.15 (45.50) = 6.825 rounds to 6.83 ... tip

    there is a 6% sales tax ... 45.50 * 1.06 = 48.23

    so in total, meal + tax + tip = 48.23 + 6.83 = 55.06 <===
