The old pool held 70 gallons of water. The new pool holds 20% more than the old one. How much water does the new pool hold?

    70 gallons times. 20 (20 percent) is 14. 14 plus 70 is 84. thus the new pool has 84 gallons.

    The new pool hold 84 gallons of water. You have to multiply 70 by 20 then divide by 100 then you add your answer to the original gallons of water.
