Find the y-intercept of the line whose equation is 3x - 4y = - 2.

    y-intercept of the line is y=3x/4+1/2

    3x - 4y=-2

    subtract 3x from the left side and subtract it to the right

    you get

    -4y = - 3x - 2

    divide each side by - 4

    you get

    y = 3/4x - 1/2

    y-intercept = - 1/2
