If y=2x-3 were changed to y=2x+5, how would the graph of new function compare with the original?

    The new graph would have the same slope (2) as the original one,

    but its y-intercept would be [ 5 - (-3) ] = 8 higher.

    The new straight line would be parallel to the original straight line,

    and they would be 8 units apart everywhere.
