Of the ice cream cones sold yesterday at brendan's ice cream shop, 2/5 were chocolate and another 1/2 were vanilla. what fraction of the ice cream cones sold were either chocolate or vanilla?

    2/5 + 1/2 = 9/10

    2/5 x 2/2 = 4/10

    1/2 x 5/5 = 5/10

    4/10 + 5/10 = 9/10

    9/10 of the ice cream cones sold were either chocolate or vanilla.
