    The distributive property: a (b + c) = ab + ac.

    Factors of 38: 1, 2, 19, 38

    Factors of 57: 1, 3, 19, 57

    GCF (38, 57) = 19

    38 + 57 = 19 · 2 + 19 · 3 = 19 (2 + 3)
