Justus samples 3 oranges from each of his trees, plus an extra 50 oranges from the whole orchard, to judge whether it is time to harvest. Write a function rule for the number of oranges Justus samples. Use x for the independent variable and y for the dependent variable. Type your answer in standard function notation, like this: f (x) = 14x-42

    Justus samples 3 oranges from one tree

    Number of oranges he samples from x trees = 3x

    Extra oranges = 50

    total number of oranges = 3x+50

    as a function f (x) we can write it as

    f (x) = 3x+50
