Average speed = (total distance traveled) / (total time of travel)

average speed = (120+48) / 3

average speed=56 mph

The first two hours was 60 miles an hour and after that it was only 48 miles an hour. She drove 168 miles altogether in 3 hours. The final answer is 56 MPH on average for all 3 hours. 168/3 = 56 MPH
