here is an old riddle:A farmer is raising cows and chickens. The animals have a total of 23 heads and 74 legs between them. How many cows are there? How many chickens?

    Chickens:11

    11*2=22

    Cows:13

    13*4=52

    23 heads = 74 legs

    cows = 1 head + 4 legs so

    lets try 10 chickens and 13 cows

    that would be 20 chicken legs + 52 cow legs = 72 legs thats very close

    so if we do 9 chickens 14 cows we get

    18 chicken legs + 56 cow legs = 74
