In a bookstore, 10 books are selected at random and the total number of words in each of the 10 books are counted. Would inferences from this sample be representative of the entire population of books in the bookstore? Why or why not?

    Inferences made from the entire population would not be representative of the entire population, as the total number of books which are selected may not account for all the different types of books, the number of words each individual book contains is not sufficiently represented in the data collected.
