Y = - x + 4

2x + 2y = 8

is it independent, inconsistent, or equivalent

    2x + 2y = 8 ... put this in y = mx + b form ... so subtract 2x from both sides

    2y = - 2x + 8 ... divide everything by 2

    y = - x + 4 ... this is the exact same as ur other equation

    therefore, u have the same line ... ur answer is equivalent (or coincident)
