    It took Maggie 12 minutes

    Step-by-step explanation:

    In this question, we are tasked with calculating the time taken for Maggie to get to Dunkin.

    The most important needed factor to solve this question is to know that the distance from School to Dunkin is same irrespective of the speed or who is making the run.

    Now, While Chris walks at 2mph, Maggie bikes at 7mph.

    Let the time taken for Chris to reach Dunkin be x hrs. The total distance would thus be 2x miles

    Also, Maggie was 30 minutes earlier which means the time for Maggie is x-0.5

    So for maggie, the number of miles will be 7 (x-0.5)

    Since these distances are same;

    2x = 7x - 3.5

    5x = 3.5

    x = 3.5/5

    x = 0.7 hrs

    Maggie's time is x-0.5 = 0.7-0.5 = 0.2 hrs

    Converting this to minutes we have 0.2 * 60 = 12 minutes
